The Lynx Golf Course has completed construction of its 5,600 square foot clubhouse. The clubhouse includes a full-service pro shop and the Lynx Sports Bar and Grill.
Overlooking the picturesque golf course, the new clubhouse was uniquely designed with an abundance of glass and patio area, allowing restaurant patrons to enjoy great food and panoramic views of the course whether they choose indoor or patio seating. The restaurant dining area is designed with 102 linear feet of 8' high windows which gives viewers an unobstructed panoramic view of the 18th green. The seating will accommodate 175 patrons, featuring seven large screen TVs. Outside the dining area and running the length of the building will be a 12-foot wide patio that includes a patio extension with a 40-foot circle. The Lynx Sports Bar and Grill features seven large screen TVs, a full menu with a variety of beers on tap.
Meandering through the Kalamazoo River valley, The Lynx is a daily-fee golf course, open to the public seven days a week. Four sets of tees and golf carts with GPS accommodate any caliber of player. The Lynx has two PGA instructors available for personal golf lessons.
Since its opening in 1997 the course's clubhouse had consisted of a modest double wide trailer. Co-owner Ron Schafer, along with four investment partners purchased the property in March 2007. From the outset, these investors have been committed to building a clubhouse to provide golfers with post-play entertainment and great times served with good food and drinks. The new facility enables the Lynx to serve its membership and the public with greater excellence and offer exceptional service for corporate outings.
Future plans include a banquet hall, a second bar and extra meeting space totaling an additional 6,700 square feet.
PGA Golf Pro and course manager, Lee Edson, states, "I am passionate about making The Lynx an exceptional golf experience."
